What to know the history of us? Read below!
The Beginning:
Matt & Mike started a band sometime in 2006. No one remembers the exact date, but we called the band Nervous Like Sheep. I'm lead to believe that we had the name and logo picked out long before we rehearsed. The drummer didn't show up for the first rehearsal, so we brought Boris to the party. We spent many nights rehearsing in the basement of an old building, amd shared the bathroom facilities with an alternative lifestyle club. The band was set to do their first show when the keyboard player decided that it wasn't his scene. We played our only show together, and then upon his departure, we became The Nervous Flirts.
The Middle:
Since that show, we've played all over Alberta in almost every popular ( and unpopular ) bar, nightclub, patio, rooftop, community hall, house, garlic farm, and campground you can think of.
In 2013, we introduced Karaoke With A Live Band . While this wasn't a new concept in the Edmonton area, ( and often called "Jameoke" ), we took it to a whole new level utilizing computer and video technology. We've brought the show to many venues, including Pure Casinos in Edmonton and Calgary, Kelly's Pub, The Red Piano, On Tapp, and most recently, The Rec Room.
We've performed over the years as a trio, but there are times where Matt and Mike have performed as a duo, and on occasion Matt will perform solo. We've also have the honour of having some talented musicians join us on stage such as Davie Graham Jr, Mark Ohman, Paul van Ramshorst, Jeff Dick, Jim Halinda, Colin Shaw, Tim Cotton, Stew Kirkwood, Rachelle Sandy, Duke Paetz, Naomi Carmack, and the legendary Graham Usher. We have also backed up the 2002 Collingwood Elvis Competition Grand Champion, Robin Kelly.
